One Friday, Two Very Different Nights: Lee Brice by the River or Bob Wills at the Avalon

This is the connoisseur's Friday: air-conditioned, acoustically pristine, and steeped in the kind of American roots music the amphitheater rarely books.

The honest calculus: Brice is the event, Asleep at the Wheel is the experience. One is a communal outdoor singalong; the other is a master class in a genre most towns never get to hear live at all. There's no wrong answer, but there is a personality test buried in it.
