It's a heartland-rock catalog built for a room The Hall's size, and it makes for one of the better Thursday tickets of the summer. Same night, Stickyz counters with Tennessee Valley Authority, keeping the River Market loud while the big room does its thing up on Ninth Street.
Friday, Aug 1, is where the weekend fans out. Down in North Little Rock, Simmons Bank Arena hosts a genuine arena-rock summit: Bryan Adams with Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo — two catalogs deep enough to fill a night on hits alone, from "Summer of '69" to "Hit Me With Your Best Shot." If you'd rather stay club-sized, the White Water Tavern has alt-country road warrior Cory Branan, one of the sharpest lyricists working the Americana circuit, while Stickyz brings Parker Barrow. And in Argenta, Four Quarter Bar throws its reliably fun tribute night with Fake (A Tribute to Cake) — exactly the kind of low-stakes, high-payoff late set that room was made for.
The strategy, if you want one: catch The Wallflowers tonight while the ticket's still gettable, keep Friday flexible between the arena spectacle and the White Water's songwriter option, and let Four Quarter be your after-hours landing spot when the bigger rooms let out. Argenta's kitchen runs late and the music starts around 10 — it's the natural nightcap to a downtown evening.
A couple of housekeeping notes before you build the itinerary: arena start times and any openers can move, so confirm before Friday, and club cover charges vary by night. None of that changes the shape of the weekend, which is enormous.
This is peak season, and the calendar knows it. A '90s radio institution on Thursday, a two-headline arena bill and a great American songwriter on Friday, and a late-night tribute romp to carry you into Saturday — all inside a few miles of one another.
