This Week in Tours: Backstreet Boys Ring in 2027 at Sphere, Foo Fighters Head South, and Garth Comes Back to Chicago
A busy stretch of announcements this week spanned Sphere spectacle, stadium reunions, arena nostalgia and post-punk grit. Here's the wire.
Backstreet Boys — New Year's Eve at Sphere (Las Vegas). The boy band that turned Sphere into a nostalgia cathedral is closing out 2026 there. On August 10, the group confirmed three more Into the Millennium dates — December 31, 2026, plus January 1 and 2, 2027 — extending a residency that, per the announcement, has already drawn more than 750,000 fans across 47 sold-out shows since launching in July 2025, making them the first pop act to headline the venue. VIP packages go up August 12; the general on-sale is August 21.
Foo Fighters — 2027 South American stadium tour. Announced August 6, the Foos will play four South American stadiums in early 2027 as part of their Take Cover run: Montevideo (Feb. 23), Buenos Aires (Feb. 25), Santiago (Feb. 28) and Lima (March 3). It's a significant return to the region — the Montevideo date is billed as the band's first-ever show in Uruguay — with local openers slated at each stop. Tickets began rolling out August 13 via regional platforms.
Garth Brooks — Chicago dates added to 'Blame It All On My Roots.' Brooks is bringing his retro arena trek back to a building he owns: Allstate Arena, where he holds the record for most performances (23), on September 11 and 12. It's his first return to the venue in 12 years. The two nights follow opening runs in Indianapolis and Denver, and the tour is being captured for a forthcoming live project. Tickets went on sale August 7 via Ticketmaster.
Fuerza Regida — 'This Is Our Dream' US tour (second leg). The música mexicana juggernaut announced a 10-date fall run on August 10, hitting amphitheaters and arenas from October into November — Tinley Park (10/3), Charlotte (10/9), Atlanta (10/10), Birmingham (10/13), Albuquerque (10/17), Wheatland (10/23), Bakersfield (10/24), Fresno (10/28), West Valley City (10/31) and a Red Rocks finale in Morrison, Colo. (11/2). It follows a sold-out stadium run that touched Dodger Stadium and Citi Field. Presales began August 11; the public on-sale is August 14 via Ticketmaster.
Iceage — spring 2027 North American tour. On the quieter end of the spectrum, Copenhagen post-punk band Iceage mapped an April 2027 North American headline tour, announced August 10. The trek opens April 2 in Seattle and wraps April 15 in Washington, D.C., with stops in Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, New York and Philadelphia. It supports their album For Love of Grace & the Hereafter, released in May via Mexican Summer. Tickets went on sale August 14.
Five announcements, five different eras of the touring business — from a $2-billion sphere of LED to a van-and-club post-punk circuit. The common thread, as ever, is that the calendar keeps filling. Set your alarms for the on-sales.
