Then on Saturday, Aug 15, the two-stage club pivots hard into hometown territory with Floats, joined by Famous Friend, The Citie, and Pet Peeves — a locals-forward lineup that's exactly the kind of thing Paper Tiger exists to platform.
Now for the tributes, because this weekend is stacked with them. Sam's Burger Joint (330 E Grayson St) leans all the way into the format. Friday, Aug 14 brings The Damn Torpedoes, a Tom Petty tribute for everyone who's ever screamed "American Girl" in a moving vehicle. The Rock Box (1223 E Houston St) — yes, the downtown rock-and-metal room — hands its stage over to Club Taylor Folklore, a Taylor Swift dance night, on Saturday, Aug 15.
