That's the night Two Dimes flips the Strip's flagship room back on for the fall, and after six weeks of a genuinely empty touring calendar in Tuscaloosa, it lands like a starter's pistol. Consider this your heads-up, filed a few days early so you can plan the run instead of scrambling for it.
Here's what's confirmed on the near horizon at Two Dimes (1307 University Blvd). It opens with Congress on Aug 20 as part of the band's Fall 2026 Tour. Two nights later, on Aug 22, the room pivots hard into dance-floor territory with Matroda. Then on Aug 25, The Gringos roll through on their Fall Tour 2026. Three shows in six days across three different lanes — a rock-leaning tour opener, an electronic night, and a country-adjacent bill — which is exactly the kind of range this room was rebuilt to handle.
And it was rebuilt to handle it. Two Dimes reopened the former Druid City Music Hall space back on Aug 18, 2025 under Grant McCabe's ownership, booked in partnership with Peachtree Entertainment, and outfitted like a Broadway honky-tonk: four full-service bars, VIP mezzanines, stage-side and on-stage seating, and one of the Southeast's largest indoor screens, in a room that holds up to roughly 1,500. If you've been waiting to see whether the new operation could program a real fall, Aug 20–25 is your first answer.
Downtown has its own reveille. The Bama Theatre (600 Greensboro Ave) breaks its own summer silence on Aug 22 with Back N Black, an AC/DC tribute — which, under that 1937 ceiling full of twinkling stars and drifting clouds, is a genuinely funny and genuinely fun collision of high and low. There is no wrong way to hear "Thunderstruck" in an 88-year-old movie palace.
Then keep scrolling, because the real payoff is the fall pipeline at the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater (2710 Jack Warner Pkwy) on the riverfront. The 2026 season opens Sept 10 with Ty Myers and just keeps coming: Sublime on Sept 18, The Avett Brothers on Oct 2, Gov't Mule on Oct 9, Breaking Benjamin on Oct 16, and Jon Pardi on Oct 23. Six headliners in six weeks at a 7,000-plus room that has hosted Willie Nelson and Erykah Badu. Whatever July felt like, the second half of 2026 is not messing around.
One more for the completists: Two Dimes already has MC4D booked Oct 1, so the fall run at the flagship isn't a one-week burst — it's the front edge of a real season.
