Neal McCoy has played bigger buildings than the Belcher Center. He has played the Grand Ole Opry, sold platinum, entertained troops on more USO tours than almost any artist alive, and this past December got himself inducted into the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame — one more plaque for a man who already sits in the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame. So when he takes the Belcher stage in Longview on September 26, 2026, understand that the star is, in the most literal sense, playing his hometown.

McCoy was born Hubert Neal McGaughey Jr. on July 30, 1958 in Jacksonville, thirty minutes south of Tyler, and he has lived in Longview for decades. KLTV once ran a whole segment titled "Proud of East Texas: Neal McCoy," and the affection runs both directions — this is a man who has quietly funded East Texas charity for years and still turns up at local ribbon-cuttings.
