For one night a month, the prettiest under-the-radar move in the Golden Isles is to skip the islands entirely and point the car at downtown Brunswick. This weekend delivers the reason: First Friday on Aug. 7, 2026, when historic Newcastle Street shuts down for an evening of live music, open galleries and late-night shopping, roughly 5 to 9 p.m.
